Venezia
2011
cardboard packaging, band-aid
4,5 x 14 x 4 cm
This sculpture is one of the first things I made while on a school trip to Venice.
I had cut my finger and bought some cookies. When opening the box of the cookies, I ripped off this beautifully
proportioned rectangle that had these two ends sticking out, like the gondolas in the canals around me.
The only problem was that it was torn on one side and it was almost disintegrating. Being stranded in a group with
no access to any kind of tools, I instinctively took the band-aid off my finger and used it to repair the little boat.
Although it has been an important work to me, it has never been featured in an exhibition.
